For some years I have been working with graphically simplified symbols for stoves, electrical sockets, washing machines, ovens and door handles. You can think of them as everyday objects but together with the titles they also refer to a life with OCD. I chose to make this sculpture soft and innocent as a contrast to the anxiety. But also to trivialise how absurd it is to pull out all the electric plugs and check the stove a thousand times before leaving home; there's humour in that which I like. It is as if one were a kind of Sisyphus trapped in their own home.
