Duo project with the Danish-Norwegian artist Astrid Hjortdal on the gallery Afloat Contemporary, Bergen.

 

The motifs refer to a Scandinavian ”municipality aesthetics” which you can find in e.g. schools, waiting rooms, kindergartens and hospitals. We connect this aesthetic to an idea of safety and that the society takes care of you. During the process we realized that the dismantling of the welfare system had started even before we were born. So in a way we searched for memories that were already long gone. Connected to the installation we read poetic texts about growing up, and later money work, in these enviroments.
